Terms of Use

Last updated September 10, 2026 · Version 2

Draft - pending legal review. This document describes how ResumeRama actually works today and is written to be accurate, but it has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer. It is not legal advice. We publish it in this state so you can read our real practices now rather than wait.

These terms are the agreement between you and ResumeRama. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use ResumeRama.

Who can use ResumeRama

You must be at least TODO: confirm - 16 years old and able to enter into a contract where you live. ResumeRama is for individuals preparing their own job applications.

Your account

Keep your sign-in secure and do not share it. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it. You can close your account at any time from your Profile page.

What the service does

ResumeRama uses AI to rewrite and tailor resume text against a job description, produce cover letters, and estimate how well a resume matches a role. Everything it produces is a draft. It can be wrong. You are responsible for checking accuracy and honesty before sending anything to an employer - see the Disclaimer.

We may add, change or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you.

How you may use it

Use ResumeRama lawfully and for your own applications. Do not abuse, overload, scrape or attack it, and do not use it to misrepresent who you are. The full rules are in the Site Usage Policy, which forms part of these terms. We may suspend or terminate access that breaks them.

Payment and credits

A free plan is available. Paid credits and plans are optional. Prices are shown before you pay, in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise, and taxes may be added. Payment is handled by our payment processor; we never receive your card details.

Where a plan renews automatically, we tell you before you buy, and you can cancel from your account at any time - cancelling is no harder than subscribing. Refund terms are in the Refund & Billing Policy.

Your content stays yours

Your resume, your job descriptions and the documents you generate remain your property. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, process it, and send the necessary parts to our AI provider to produce your result. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not use your content to train AI models. See the AI Policy.

You confirm you have the right to submit what you upload, and that it is not someone else’s confidential material.

Our content

The ResumeRama name, site, software, templates and design are ours and are protected by intellectual property law. You may use them only as part of using the service.

Availability and warranties

We work to keep ResumeRama running but we do not guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost opportunities, offers or employment outcomes. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $50.

Consumer protection law in Quebec, the EU, the UK, Australia and elsewhere gives you rights that cannot be signed away. Nothing here removes those rights, and where this section conflicts with them, they win.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using ResumeRama at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, or if we must for legal or security reasons. If we end your access without cause and you have unused paid credit, we will refund it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you may still have the right to bring proceedings in your own country.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are dated and versioned at the top of this page, and we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in. Your consent record stores which version you agreed to.
