Ads Policy

Last updated September 10, 2026 · Version 2

Draft - pending legal review. This document describes how ResumeRama actually works today and is written to be accurate, but it has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer. It is not legal advice. We publish it in this state so you can read our real practices now rather than wait.

ResumeRama does not show advertising today. No ad network runs on this site, no advertising script loads, and no advertising cookie is set.

Why this page exists at all

We have completed site-ownership verification with Google AdSense, which places a single identifying tag in the page source. That is a verification step and nothing else - it displays no ads, loads no script and collects nothing.

We are publishing this policy before running any advertising rather than after, so that the rules are set while there is no commercial pressure on them. This page describes what we would be bound by if we ever turned advertising on.

The rules we are committing to

Consent first. No advertising script would load and no advertising cookie would be set until you have opted in through the cookie banner. Advertising consent defaults to off and is never pre-ticked.

Refusing costs you nothing. This policy is optional. Declining advertising will never reduce your access to the free service or degrade what you can do.

Never your resume. Your resume content, job descriptions, generated documents and tailoring history would never be used to target advertising, and would never be shared with an advertiser or ad network. That is the whole point of the product boundary.

Notice before the change. We would update this page, date it, re-request consent, and tell you before any ad appeared - not after you noticed one.

Withdrawal is one click. Withdrawing consent would be as easy as giving it, and would stop the processing rather than merely hide the ads.

If ads ever run

Ad networks generally set their own cookies and may use them to build a profile across sites. Under California law that activity is usually treated as “sharing” personal information. If we turn advertising on we would publish a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control, and in the EU, UK and Quebec we would use a consent framework that meets the local standard before any tag fires.

We would rather charge you a fair price than monetise your job search. If that ever stops being true, this page is where you will find out, and you will be asked before anything changes.
